In brief
For a luxury wedding of 100 to 150 guests, expect roughly €60,000 to €200,000 in Marrakech, and more for a fully bespoke project. The venue, reception and caterer absorb nearly half of the budget; floral decoration and scenography come next.
What budget for a luxury wedding?
There is no such thing as an “average price” for a luxury wedding: it all depends on guest count, venue, season and the level of personalisation. There are, however, reliable orders of magnitude. In Marrakech, a high-end wedding of 100 to 150 guests most often falls between €60,000 and €200,000. Beyond that, you enter bespoke territory: scenography created from scratch, performing artists, rented furniture, exclusive use of a palace.
The best habit is to think in cost per guest rather than a global envelope. It helps you make smart trade-offs: adding ten guests costs far more than ten place settings, because it also increases rentals, flowers, service and sometimes the venue itself.
The budget breakdown, line by line
This is the indicative breakdown we use to frame a first budget. These percentages are orders of magnitude, to be adjusted to your priorities.
| Item | Share of budget | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Venue, reception & caterer | 40 to 50% | The heaviest item. Check whether the caterer is imposed. |
| Decoration, flowers & scenography | 12 to 20% | This is what creates the visual identity of the evening. |
| Photo & video | 8 to 12% | The only memories that remain: do not under-invest. |
| Music & entertainment | 5 to 10% | Orchestra, DJ, performers: the energy of the night depends on them. |
| Wedding planner | 10 to 15% | Often paid back by the savings negotiated. |
| Outfits, beauty & stationery | 8 to 12% | Dress, suit, hair and make-up, invitations. |
| Contingency | 5 to 10% | Never remove it from the budget. |

What really drives the bill up
- Guest count: every additional guest weighs on almost every line.
- Season and day: a Saturday in June or September is more expensive and more constrained than a Friday or a Sunday.
- Out-of-season flowers: peonies in October, dahlias in May… the price and the carbon footprint soar.
- Guest travel and accommodation, especially for a destination wedding.
- Last-minute requests: they always come at a premium.
Why Marrakech is budget-friendly
At an equivalent level of service, Marrakech often offers better value for craftsmanship, flowers, labour and scenography, with spectacular settings. In return, you must account for travel, guest accommodation and denser logistics. Palaces, riads and estates available for exclusive use offer exceptional settings at controlled prices.

Where to save… and where never to
You can lighten the bill without spoiling the experience: trim the guest list, pick a shoulder season, favour seasonal flowers, share the decor between ceremony and dinner. However, never sacrifice the caterer, the wedding-day coordination and the photography: these are the three items the memory you keep depends on.
